What is OSPA?

The purpose of the Oregon School Personnel Association (OSPA)is to: a) foster the staffing of Oregon school systems with the highest qualified individuals; and b) encourage and assist in the development and utilization of exemplary school personnel administration practices.

All individuals with responsibilities for personnel administration and related functions in public, private, or postsecondary school systems in the State of Oregon are invited to become members of OSPA. Membership in OSPA requires no annual fees since membership costs are supported by OSPA revenue-generating activities. You may register as a member by going to www.teachoregon.com and then clicking on OSPA and then the button "Register" (not conference registration).

One of the most important benefits of membership is access to a statewide network of people in positions similar to yours. The regular regional meetings of the association and our conferences held twice yearly strengthen these connections.

OSPA is currently providing an HR Leadership Program titled "Human Resources in Education." Those interested in taking courses through OSPA, with credit available through Willamette University, can contact Chuck White at ospawhite@earthlink.net.

An annual membership directory and handbook are available on the OSPA website. Members are asked to update their membership information when changes in position or contact information occur.

For more information about OSPA services, contact Chuck White, Executive Director, at ospawhite@earthlink.net or phone: 503-551-3990.
